Toba Samosir is the combination of two words that become the name of a regency in the south side of Lake Toba. Since its separation with the mother regency ( Tapanuli Utara ) trough Article 12 year 1998, this regency is led by Regency Drs. Sahala Tampubolon.
The government of Toba Samosir realizes that the natural beauty and potential that is possessed by Toba Samosir cannot make its citizens of 304,125 become automatically prosperous without hard work. The government is encouraging the entire Toba Samosir community to realize the vision of Toba Samosir, that is "to make the Toba Samosir regency as a place for agricultural, tourism, and industrial development by moving its human resources to utilize the natural resources wisely and in an environmentally conscious manner. " The government also invites investors to conduct their business in Toba Samosir and benefiting everyone involved in the community.
